This 12 hr accredited Paediatric First Aid Course is suitable for childminders, nursery workers or anyone who works with children and/or babies.
The course is being delivered over 2 Saturdays and full attendance is required.
Saturdays 8th and 15th February , 9.30am – 4.45pm
The course covers:
Assessing the situation
CPR on child and baby
AED (defibrillator)
Recovery position
Choking
Shock
External bleeding
Bites, stings, minor cuts and grazes, bumps & bruises
Head injuries
Foreign bodies in eye, ear, nose
Diabetes
Asthma
Anaphylaxis
Febrile convulsions
Meningitis
Hypothermia
Hyperthermia
Electric shock
Burns & Scalds
Poisoning
The course is practically assessed over the 2 days and there are also 2 multiple choice question papers to be completed.
On successfully completion of the course learners will receive a certificate issued by the awarding body.
